The world of anime is full of mysteries, but the one thing we all want to know is why does it seem like so many characters have some sort of curse that turns their hair white? Though there are a few theories out on what causes this phenomenon, in truth- people who have been through traumatic events often find themselves with premature greys. And when you think about how much stress these characters in anime go through from time to time we could understand the symbolism.
Not many people can pull off white hair. It’s not a common color, but it does have its advantages in anime settings where you would otherwise show the character as otherworldly and mysterious. Here are the best anime characters with white hair we could find.

Kanata suffers from an illness that leaves him in a lethargic state; this explains why he often skips classes or faints without warranting explanation sometimes. In fact, if you’re on the wrong side of this guy’s blade, it doesn’t matter who or what you are–he’ll slice ’em in half with no remorse just for fun. Aqua is so shallow and vindictive that she can’t wrap her head around why people love Eris. But it should be pretty obvious, really: She’s kind, adorable, and gets flustered easily- more than Aqua or Zeus ever will! There’s a huge debate whether or not there are pads in certain places, though.

Byakuya Ishigami (Dr Stone)
Upon his introduction, Senku’s father was not the coolest dad figure in anime. But as time went on and he began to teach him life lessons during their brief moments together, it became clear that they were more than just an average father-son duo. His unflinching belief in Senku, paired with a desire to make his son proud of himself no matter what happens, is enough for me to get emotional.
Shiro (Deadman Wonderland)
The first thing that stands out about Shiro, other than that pale skin, is her carefree attitude, as she’s never too aware of what might happen next. She has a tendency to act rather childishly when Ganta does something wrong, and it makes an otherwise peaceful place feel tense for the rest of us (which isn’t much better). With such a sweet personality, no one even knows what her offense was or why they are keeping this angel captive when she is clearly not hurting anyone.
