Some time ago, the influential and powerful Toue Inc. purchased the Japanese island of Midorijima with the intention of constructing Platinum Jail—a magnificent utopian prison. The plot centers around Akira Nikaido, a typical slacker who is enjoying a routine life in high school. That is until he meets the enigmatic Shirogane, a man who emerges out of nowhere and informs him that they share a destiny. When Akira hears this, he is taken aback and refuses to believe it. Akira’s buddy Aya forgets something at school one night and asks Akira to help her find it. He agrees, but he is attacked by a shadow monster while there. Shirogane persuades him that the equilibrium between the human and shadow worlds has been thrown off, and that Akira must become a “shin”—a creature of the shadow world—in order to help restore it. The anime features shonen-ai themes that are not present in the novel.

An anime television series adaptation aired from October 5 to December 28, 2018.

Takato Saijou has been named “Sexiest Man of the Year” five times. He is a seasoned actor with 20 years of experience who is conscious of his superb looks. Takato feels proud of his career and views the title as suitable.

But when acting newcomer Junta Azumaya, who debuted only three years ago, ends his reign, Takato’s disbelief turns to enmity. Sekaiichi Hatsuloi is a B.L. manga series written and illustrated by Shungiku Nakamura. In 2011, the manga was adapted into an anime television series. The anime series began its broadcast run on April 9, 2011. An original animation DVD was bundled with the fifth and sixth volumes of the manga series, released in March and September 2011.

It’s a struggle for Ritsu Onodera to establish himself in the profession after having to deal with hostility from his coworkers for working under his father’s name. He leaves his job at his dad‘s publishing company to join Marukawa Publishing. Ritsu gets assigned to the Emerald editing department instead of the literary section, a staff that works under tight deadlines. Ritsu meets Masamune Takano, an infamous editor-in-chief who demands results.

No. 6 is a manga drawn by Hinoki Kino was serialized in Kodansha’s Aria magazine from January 2011 to November 2013. An 11-episode anime adaptation by Bones was broadcast on Fuji T.V.’s Noitamina programming block from July to September 2011. A novel series written by Atsuko Asano was published in nine volumes between October 2003 and June 2011.

Many years ago, following the end of a horrific world war, humanity sought refuge in six city-states that were calm and flawless… on the surface. Shion, an elite resident of the city-state No. 6, on the other hand, received a fresh perspective on the society he lives in as a result of a fortuitous encounter with a curious youngster named Nezumi. Nezumi turned out to be one of many people who lived in the dismal wasteland beyond the gates of the ostensibly utopian city. Despite knowing that the other boy was a fugitive, Shion opted to take him in for the night and protect him, which had significant consequences: Shion and his mother lost their status as aristocrats and were transported elsewhere, and the city’s darker side began to emerge.

The Stranger by the Beach is a Japanese boys’ love manga series written and illustrated by Kanna Kii. The first book, L’étranger de la Plage, was serialized in the bimonthly manga magazine On BLUE from 2013 to 2014. It has been published in English by the digital distribution platform Renta! under the title The Stranger By The Beach. An anime film adaptation premiered on September 11, 2020.

Shun Hashimoto is an openly gay aspiring novelist from Okinawa who was abandoned by his parents after coming out to them. Mio Chibana is a shy, orphaned high school student who spends a lot of time by the water. When the two meet on the beach one day, Shun is immediately smitten by Mio. The days go by as they get closer and closer until Mio abruptly says that he must leave for the mainland.

Three years pass until Mio, now 20, returns to Okinawa to profess his feelings for Shun. Shun’s life, however, has changed in those three years. Will he be able to accept Mio’s feelings and commit to such a long-term relationship?

Yarichin Bitch Club

Ogeretsu Tanaka’s Yarichin Bitch Club is a Japanese web manga series written and illustrated by him. Yarichin Bitch Club has been self-published on Pixiv since 2012, and Gentosha released it in print in 2016.

Grizzly also created two unique animated videos for the webcomic, which were published on direct-to-DVD in 2018.

Takashi Toono had no idea what to anticipate when he transferred to Morimori Academy, a private all-boys boarding school in the mountains. However, it’s just like any other guys’ school, and because he arrived halfway through the year, he feels like an outcast—that is, until the bright and cheery Kyousuke Yaguchi introduces himself.

Toono chooses to join the low-effort “Photography Club” due to the school’s mandatory group policy, but the club is not what it appears to be. Sukisho is a Japanese visual novel that was released on September 10, 1999, by UNiSONSHIFT. It was later turned into a light book series and an anime television series, both of which ran from January to March 2005 and were animated by Zexcs.

Hashiba Sora has lost all of his memories after falling from a fourth-story window. When Fujimori Sunao arrives at his school as his new roommate, Fujimori introduces himself as Ran to Hashiba. Both Fujimori and Hashiba have a split personalities that they formed as children. Yoru and Ran, their dual identities, are madly in love. Even though what their other selves do with each other at night scares Fujimori and Hashiba out, they begin to fall for each other. Hashiba Sora discovers several unexpected details about their youth as a result of their friendship.

Super Lovers

Miyuki Abe, creator of Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East, created the Japanese yaoi manga series Super Lovers, which was serialized in the magazine Emerald. In April 2016, an anime adaptation aired. In January 2017, the second season premiered.

Haru Kaidou, the family’s eldest kid, travels all the way to Canada when he learns that his mom is dying. When he arrives, he learns that not only did his mom lie to him, but he also has to take care of his antisocial brother, Ren Kaidou, who is more comfortable around dogs than people.

Initially, Haru has trouble reaching out to Ren because of his skeptical nature, but their bond grows over time. After Haru finishes high school, Ren says they’ll live together in Japan. Haru, however, forgets everything about the summer they spent together, including the vow he made. Five years later, Ren arrives in Tokyo, expecting Haru to keep his promise; however, Ren is just a random kid who claims to be his brother to Haru.

Junjou Romantica

Junjou Romantica is a Boys’ love series by Shungiku Nakamura. It has expanded into several CD dramas, a manga series, a light novel series, and a 37-episode anime series. A spinoff titled Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi (lit. “The World’s Greatest First Love”) focusing on a shōjo manga editor and his first love was also animated by Studio Deen in 2011.

Misaki Takahashi, a high school student, returns home to find his older brother being fondled by an unknown man. Misaki is perplexed by the sight and discovers that the stranger is Akihiko Usami, a popular novelist, and his brother’s best friend. As the two of them become further acquainted, Akihiko becomes Misaki’s private instructor. However, after discovering the author’s latest boys-love novel, Misaki is unsure whether or not to believe Akihiko about his friendship with the student’s brother.

Hiroki Kamijou, a university professor of ancient literature and Akihiko’s buddy, is also mourning a failed romance. While on the verge of a nervous breakdown, he encounters student Nowaki Kusama, who needs his assistance with an approaching exam. Despite repeatedly dismissing Nowaki’s request, Hiroki eventually lends him help. More revelations about the student are made as the two get closer.

Furthermore, when affluent adolescent Shinobu Takatsuki learns that his older sister has divorced Hiroki’s coworker You Miyagi, he immediately wants to date the same man who saved Shinobu from a robbery three years before. Even still, You is not convinced and tries to scare him away. However, the instructor quickly understands that Shinobu is willing to go to any length for their destined passion.

Junjou Romantica is a collection of three love stories that tell the story of each couple’s romance.

Loveless is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yun Kōga. It is serialized in the Japanese magazine Monthly Comic Zero Sum by Ichijinsha and collected in thirteen tankōbon as of July 2017. A 12-episode anime television series adaptation was made by J.C. Staff, broadcast in a post-midnight slot on T.V. Asahi and ABC from April 2005 to June 2005.

In the universe of Loveless, everyone is born with cat ears and a tail, which only disappears when they participate in sexual activity. As a result, they have come to represent virginity and innocence. Fighting is also limited to “fighting pairs” or couples, with one serving as the Sacrifice and the other as the Fighter. The first takes the harm, while the second assaults.

Ritsuka Aoyagi is a 12-year-old child who has amnesia for unclear reasons. His brother recently died, and as if his life hadn’t been difficult enough, on his first day at his new school, he is contacted by a stranger named Agatsuma Soubi, who claims to have known his late brother. Given is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Natsuki Kizu. It has been serialized in the bimonthly manga magazine Chéri+ since 2013, and has been collected into six tankōbon volumes. The series has been adapted multiple times, notably as an audio drama in 2016, an 11-episode anime television series in 2019, an anime film in 2020, and a live-action television drama in 2021.

Mafuyu Satou goes out of his gloomy apartment, gripping his Gibson guitar tightly, to begin another day of high school. While napping in a peaceful location on the gymnasium stairway, he runs across fellow student Ritsuka Uenoyama, who chastises him for allowing his guitar’s strings to rust and break. Satou begs Uenoyama to mend the instrument and teach him how to play after noticing his understanding of it. Uenoyama eventually agrees and invites him to join his two bandmates, bassist Haruki Nakayama and drummer Akihiko Kaji, for a jam session.

Satou’s voice is stunningly lovely, and Uenoyama is determined to make Satou the band’s lead singer. Satou accepts the offer following an emotional reunion with an old buddy, despite his initial reluctance. Satou must not only learn to play the guitar with the help of his new pals but also come to grips with the enigmatic circumstances that lead him to be its owner.

Doukyuusei Classmates

Asumiko Nakamura’s Doukyuusei Classmates is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by her. Classmates, which debuted in the manga magazine Opera in July 2006, has inspired a slew of sequels and spinoffs. Doukyusei: Classmates, an anime film adaptation of the first volume of the series, was released in February 2016 by A-1 Pictures.

Hikaru Kusakabe is a typical, carefree rock band member who is always focused on the present. During the summer, his entire class is required to participate in a choral festival. By chance, he comes upon his classmate Rihito Sajou, who is known for being an honor student with high grades, rehearsing his singing alone. Sajou can’t seem to get their class song right, and Kusakabe, happy to see a new side to his straight-laced classmate, offers to assist him in preparing for the event.

Despite the fact that their lifestyles and personalities are diametrically opposed, they become closer over time. But, with the uncertainty of the future looming, what will become of them and their budding relationship?
