Ever since we were kids, all otaku or weebs wanted an anime girl as their girlfriend. We can’t have them in real life because they don’t exist, but every kid wishes that somehow these girls became a reality.
Fans of shows can’t get enough and often wish the characters were real. But what if they could?
Asking for three wishes, world peace or unlimited riches, comes later because our first desire is to have favorite female characters in anime come alive and declaring them as spouses.
Claiming anime characters as their waifu or husbando is an exciting phenomenon that has exploded in the world of anime. The type of fictional character someone claims reveals how they see themselves and what kind of personality traits they might be into.
And of course, everyone has different opinions on which ones are the best. So today, I’m going to talk about my 30 favorite waifus

30. Erza Scarlet – Fairy Tail
Meet Erza Scarlet, the tough-as-nails knight who has crawled from hell and made it to the other side in one piece.
On the outside, she’s like a great wall of China – strong, powerful, and well guarded with her armor on. But beneath that exterior is an insecure woman whose past haunts her every day, yet she accepts all flaws for what they are: part of herself. And don’t forget about those stunning red hair!
29.Kyoko Mogami – Skip Beat
Kyoko Mogami from Skip Beat is a gentle girl with a dark side to her personality. Primarily because of how she’s been treated by the people around her and just life in general.
The result shapes Kyoko into an ambitious woman who won’t take no for an answer, determined not to “give up” even when it seems like all hope has gone out on this world that we live in nowadays (at least anime-wise). She does this while maintaining high standards and refusing “to sink low.” They don’t write girls like Kyoko Mogami these days!
28. Ino – Naruto
Ino is one of the most popular female characters in Naruto. She’s known for her long blonde hair, pretty blue eyes, and beauty that could make any guy swoon even though she’s not too different from all those other hot anime girls.
Beneath this exterior lies a kind-hearted girl who always has time to help out people but don’t cross her, or you’ll find yourself at the wrong end of an angry glare!
27. Miaka Yuki – Fushigi Yugi
Miaka has auburn hair and light green eyes. She nearly always wears her school uniform, which consists of a white blouse, brown jacket, matching skirt with blue trimming at the bottom hem and pocket, and ox-horn ties on either side of it using red ribbon for intricate detailing.
The top buttons are left open to reveal just enough cleavage without being too showing while simultaneously setting off Miaka’s trademark full fringe that frames both sides of her head perfectly in between two braids wrapped around from behind each ear down over one shoulder where they meet before wrapping back up again all the way eventually meeting under chin or neckline depending on how long you want your braid ends to be tied together giving them an elegant polished look perfecting.
Miaka is an outgoing girl who doesn’t have a hard time making friends or talking to strangers. She can be seen as genuine with her naivety, but she’s also surprisingly insightful when the occasion calls for it. Miaka has many traits that make her endearing in both children’s and adults’ eyes; generosity, kindness towards others, selflessness are just some! It’s no wonder they always seem someone is looking out for this adorable child.
Her main weakness is her love for food and the fact that she’s an avid anime fan.
26. Suzuha Amane – Steins Gate
Suzuha’s physical attributes include pale toned skin, long brown hair, and a slim profile. Her outfit consists of a blue jacket; paired with her white socks- it created the perfect mix between casualness and joviality.
Suzuha is a friendly girl who loves cycling and works part-time in the Braun Tube Workshop below the lab. She often comes across as overly familiar, but she maintains a carefully measured distance from everyone.
However, if something captures her interest, Suzuha’s personality will change dramatically into an aggressive one which means she can be really straight with people when necessary.

25. Motoko Kusanagi – Ghost in the Shell
Motoko Kusanagi is a woman on the go. She’s constantly switching her complex body composition to suit whatever job needs doing. Still, she can never seem to shake some of those signature traits like violet-colored hair and crimson red eyes that help keep things easy for one another when we come across each other in cyberspace.
Motoko Kusanagi is an advanced cyborg with highly advanced capabilities, recognized as a true professional in her line of duty. Motoko is often referred only by the name “The Major.” She’s one of the best police agents out there, so it makes sense that Section 9–the squad that The Major leads–is also seen as a high-ranking group among law enforcement authorities.
Although some may not know much about this enigmatic character at first glance, those who take part in conversations with her will undoubtedly find something to appreciate: She knows how to be friendly when necessary but can come off cold or aloof if provoked too far.
24. Nami – One Piece
Nami is a slim young woman of average height. She has orange hair and brown eyes that make her look very attractive or even beautiful to most people. What really makes Nami stand out, though, are the two blue marks on the top left side of her shoulder! One represents oranges in general (mikan). At the same time, the other one stands for pinwheels which she loves so much because they remind her of childhood times playing with them at home with friends.
Nami is greedy and will do anything for money, including participating in any challenge that comes along. Her love of treasure stemmed from her childhood when she lived a poor life with little wealth despite the love of her adopted mother. She became even more obsessed when as an orphaned child, her family’s poor status led to the death of the said mother.
Nami grew up constantly getting treasure through theft to pay for freedom or village members captured by pirates while trying to fight back against them on their own accord during raids; this was how she learned about navigation skills too! While it would be easy enough sending Luffy and his crewmates out there -Namii herself offers- but selling one’s comrades? Not happening just because someone has offered.
To this end, she is in complete horror whenever the rest of the crew wastes money or passes up an opportunity to get it. Her desire for money is such that she attempted to seduce an eight-year-old once discovering his rich.
23. Honami Ichinose – Classroom of the Elite
Honami is a young teenage girl with blue eyes and long, light pink hair that she wears down to her waist and black mid-calf socks. She’s considered highly attractive by her own classmates and friends, with back-length strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes.
Honami is a sweet and kind-hearted girl who has no patience for violence. She’s liked by everyone, but she never loses her cool or gets angry at people around her. Honami is also a charismatic and energetic person and extends her sweet and benign character even to those of the lower classes,” she says. “Unlike many other upper-class students.”
Honami is a person of principle and conviction who knows what she stands for, making her proud. She always keeps her word because it’s important to be genuine in life!
22. Raphtalia – The Rising Of The Shield Hero
Raphtalia’s introduction is described as looking like a dirty child with long, unkempt hair. Naofumi takes her and gives her the haircut of every girl’s dreams: “above-the-shoulder length locks cut to accentuate all that Raphtalia has going for it—her beautifully shaped face framed by richly colored tresses.
He dresses his new companion in an outfit suitable for someone who spends their life on adventures; he opts against sleeves so she can move freely while wielding weapons or carrying supplies.”
Raphtalia started off as this description but ended up becoming much more refined through time thanks to one man named Naofumi!
Raphtalia is initially very shy, sickly, and fearful due to her status as a slave. However, after encountering the two-headed dog monster, she overcomes trauma from memories of destruction to her village by Cerberus. Raphtalia finally acknowledges Naofumi’s greatness as a hero.
21. Ichigo – Darling in the Franxx
Ichigo has a soft, green eye that is the color of life! Her eyes are small and petite. She wears her straight blue hair in a razor-cut hairstyle where it hangs on one side of her face longer than the other.
One strand falls over to cover one eye. In contrast, another covers what would be an empty space below if not for this long piece of hair framing Ichigo’s face perfectly with its charming waves and gentle curls falling down onto each cheek near her jawline.
Ichigo is the type of person who never gives up, always looking on the bright side. Although she doesn’t show her emotions often, Ichigo has a soft spot for friends and family alike – you can see it in how much care and thoughtfulness she puts into everything that’s been given to her as well as what tasks are assigned to her during battle.
20. Tsubasa Hanekawa – ‘Monogatari
Tsubasa is a teenage girl with glasses, black hair, purple pupils, and a fair complexion. She’s always seen wearing her school uniform, but she often wears clothing that covers most of her body outside of the classroom.
Tsubasa is a soft-spoken girl with a kind heart and an approachable character. She’s admired by teachers for her top grades. However, she still retains humility about it because of her study habits that make knowledge available to others.
Her positive personality never makes Tsubasa angry, even when she does get mad; instead, the offender often gets scolded like they’re in school again before receiving smiles from their classmate out of nowhere!
19. Emilia – Re: Zero
Emilia is a beautiful Half-Elf with long silver hair and purple-blue eyes. She wears white clothes and her favorite flower in her dark blue hair to go unnoticed at night time. Although she appears to be 18 years old mentally, Emilia’s chronological age remains unknown as the Great Spirit of Fire decides when that will change!
Emilia has a tendency to use words that are commonplace in the ancient world. Even Fortuna, her old friend from Elior Forest, found it odd to learn them all.
On rare occasions, Emilia will let out her childish side when faced with something very unfamiliar because up until recently, she was unacquainted with society outside of woodlands and other elves like herself had used as their home for centuries before being forced into exile decades ago by humans encroaching on their lands.
When the first season concluded, Emilia was nowhere near the waifu race. She was so far back in Rem’s dust that not even a blue shell could save her. But then season two came around, and that all changed suddenly she wasn’t just this shy girl who may or may not become a Queen, but rather had plenty of backstories fleshing out why she is how she is, which made it seem genuine; at least as regards mental strength: Subaru would be proud to have such an ally by his side!
18. Tatsumaki – One Punch Man
When the hero association needs a tough task, they call Tatsumaki. Her fiery personality and wild hair are framed by her emerald green eyes that match her ever-changing moods.
When she’s not fighting crime on city streets or having to deal with other heroes’ incompetence, she enjoys spending time at home where people can’t ignore what she has to say about politics, society, and all things necessary for change.

17. Bulma – Dragon Ball Z
Bulma is probably one of the most important female characters throughout the series. She definitely has a lot to offer.
She’s not only an intelligent scientist but also Vegeta’s wife and Trunks’ mother! Bulma can easily change her look from being totally tomboyish to feminine depending on what situation arises; as well as having 18 different hairstyles throughout Dragon Ball Z. And even though Bulma may be vain at times with her looks using them for advantage in certain situations, it doesn’t take away from all that this loveable character brings into our lives!

16. Kyoka Jiro – My Hero Academia
Kyoka is one of the quirkiest characters from a manga series that I’ve come across. But, she’s also really cool! So, not only can she fight and play musical instruments like bass guitar and the guitar, but she has these earphone jacks that create vibration attacks just by her heartbeat to wow people even more.
Apart from those awesome features, Kyoka also knows some other super moves too for extra excitement! When she’s not saving the world with her powers, this heroine often walks around with a lazy look. Her triangular onyx eyes and short dark purple hair make it hard to tell what she might be thinking about while wearing that super smile of hers as if nothing can get under her skin!

15. Megumin – KonoSuba
Megumin is a girl who has always been obsessed with Explosion magic. She spends all of her time practicing and never really does anything else…so when she joins Kazuma’s team to defeat the Demon King, at first, everyone thinks it’ll be an easy win because they have such strong firepower! But Megumin also insists on using every ounce of energy for this one move even though there are plenty more spells that would help them fight against evil.
14. Minori Kushieda – Toradora
Minori is one of the coolest characters on this list. She’s an energetic, hardworking, and optimistic girl who has a lot to offer in her own way- she captains her school’s softball team. In addition, she holds at least four jobs for extra money so that one day she can fulfill her dream of joining the national league!
But even though Minori works very hard all day, it seems like nothing will get him down every day because he always finds something good out of bad situations, never giving up hope despite what life throws his way.
She has a beautiful personality that hides behind her seemingly airheaded tendencies and is always observant of others. Her hair color is amaranth, with light eyes to match the playful demeanor she carries herself through life.

13. Sasha Braus – Attack on Titan
The potato girl from the AOT series made it to this list! Sasha Braus, also known as Blouse in English, is a member of the Survey Corps and 104th Training Corps.
She joined after witnessing Eren’s deep desire to eliminate all Titans, which she saw during their first meeting at Trost District.
She loves eating potatoes – you can always see her with some type of food around her.
12. Rukia Kuchiki – Bleach
Rukia is one of the most underrated characters in Bleach, and despite her cool exterior, she’s actually very kind. She grew up from humble beginnings but was later adopted into nobility, making sense considering how well-mannered she seems to be with everyone. However, she often hides her true emotions behind. People are shocked when they find out what an awesome person Rukia really is!
11. Tsunade – Naruto
She has hair with shoulder-length bangs that frame her face, and the rest reaches her lower back. She’s a fair-skinned blonde with brown eyes, but she started tying it in loose ponytails instead of trying to keep it up as she got older.
Tsunade is committed to protecting Konoha and its villagers, willing to give her life for her village and allies if necessary. Just as she once did, Tsunade supports all other dreams that she can: when Rock Lee tells her he dreams of being a ninja despite knowing he may die trying, she does not argue his decision but in the end, makes sure that even though there are risks involved with this dream, it doesn’t stop him from following what’s important to him.
A lot of people would say that Tsunade is not an ideal Hokage. She likes to gamble, drink and have a short fuse- but she has the tenacity in her heart of 100 men! And with all those qualities, it’s no wonder why Naruto fans call her “Waifu Material.”
10. Belldandy – Ah My Goddess
Belldandy is a goddess in more than one way. She’s beautiful, kind-hearted, and empathetic to everyone she meets; even her enemies have mercy on Belldandy because of how pure her intentions are. Few anime girls can compare with the radiance that this goddess emits
9 Ram – Re:Zero
Ram is a side character in Re:Zero, unlike any other. She always brings the laughs with her appearance, and we see just how much of an interesting personality she has when on screen. Unlike Rem, Ram speaks only the truth and doesn’t mince words for anyone—a charm that comes with being confident.
And while both have their strengths, it’s clear to me who I’d rather spend time around; there’s something about Ram that draws you in because deep down inside, she knows what matters most.
8. Maki Oze – Fire Force
A girl who knows how to fight because she’s military-trained exercises every day and works out like it’s her job. She still has a feminine side that makes you want to protect her when the “cute” things in life get underfoot. But don’t mistake this for weakness – if someone crosses lines or insults you, they’ll be met with an instant verbal lashing from this fierce flower!
7. Mikoto Misaka – A Certain Scientific Railgun
What I love most about Mikoto Misaka are her ambition, drive, and determination.
It’s hard to find someone who possesses the same force of will like a character like Mikoto does in an anime or manga series these days. And she never got there by luck either; it was because she put in all that work!
What makes this even more interesting to observe is how grounded. So down-to-earth Mikoto remains despite achieving so much success over time – you can tell just from looking at her that materialism doesn’t matter too much for her anymore (though admittedly, some fans might disagree with me on this).
6. Zero Two – ‘Darling in the FranXX’
Zero Two’s full ensemble was composed of a white military cap with a matching overcoat and boots. She often wore her signature red military uniform, black leggings, and white boots. She had an affection for wearing the 9’s pistil suit: a red bodysuit with white accents that she would wear whenever it suited her fancy.
After being assigned to Squad 13, Zero Two adopted their standard Pistil uniform: a more subdued outfit consisting of just enough color accenting on the shoulders so as not to be monochrome – after all, there is less need for camouflage when one can fly!
Zero Two was the unruly, passionate girl who hated to follow the rules set up by adults. She was a self-confident and carefree person with an assertive nature that made her outspoken of people’s beliefs even if they are wrong. Her rule-breaking helped break Hiro out from his depression, where he blindly followed what society told him is right or wrong based on their moral standards.
The first time I heard Zero Two say “darling,” my heart skipped a beat.
She has this crazy energy that makes the most mundane tasks feel like an adventure! And she knows how to make you laugh, too. It’s always nice seeing her smile when it seems like everything is going wrong in their world–she really does know what to do with a hard day at work, and all of those cooking skills don’t hurt either.
5. Rei Hino – Sailor Moon
Of course, no waifu list would be complete without a Sailor Moon Waifu.
Rei was the childhood crush for anyone who has watched or read sailor moon. Heck! She was the prettiest of all the sailor girls in this series. Rei is a teenager with long black hair and dark brown eyes, making her look very exotic.
Besides being pretty, she also loves to tease people – especially boys- which makes sense considering how boy crazed she can sometimes be and bossy but still loyal and determined when it comes to something important like fighting monsters alongside Usagi Tsukino “Sailor Moon.”
When you get closer friends with Rei, even though she’s fiery by nature (which only adds on more attractiveness), there are times where you’ll catch moments that show just how much you care about those close to her despite everything else.
4. Mikasa Ackerman – Attack on Titan
Mikasa was an unusual child. She saw the world as a place of cruelty, violence, and death. Her peace shattered when criminals killed her parents before her eyes in a failed kidnapping attempt – only saving herself by killing one of them with no hesitation whatsoever.
Mikasa would go on to see life harshly from then on out. She had seen all it could do for good or bad firsthand during that fateful event; there wasn’t anything left worth putting faith into anymore now that everything else had been ruined under such unforgiving circumstances.
3. Hinata Hyuga – ‘Naruto’
Hinata has a slender frame with a fair complexion and lavender eyes. She used to have dark blue hair that was cut just above her forehead.
Hinata was known for her kind and gentle manners. However, she always thought of other people more than herself, which made her very meek or timid when it came to confrontational situations with others. Her father constantly pushed the idea that she should be assertive in these types of conversations, but this only led to even less self-confidence on Hinata’s part; after all, if he didn’t believe in his own daughter, then how could she ever trust him?
It wasn’t until Naruto helped show her kindness doesn’t need to come at the expense of one person over another.
2. Kurisu Makise – Steins Gate
She has an unusual sense of fashion, with her outfit being composed of a white long-sleeved blue-rimmed dress shirt with a red necktie. Her shirt is tucked into black shorts and tights held up by a belt buckle on top of loose khaki pants, which cover upper thighs. In addition, she wears boots with partially unzipped zippers folded down to show off the bright colors underneath during sporting straps at ends for sleeves and rim, so the jacket stays in place!
Kurisu is a young girl who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She’s especially sarcastic and witty. She usually expresses through interactions with Okabe and Daru – the former due to his eccentricities (and occasional insensitivity). At the same time, the latter often takes it too far by making perverted remarks. Kurisu spends most of her time in the lab hanging out with Mayuri;. However, they have their share of arguments from time to time, that doesn’t stop them from getting along well enough for fun banter every now and then!
Kurisu is one of my favorite characters ever. She’s not a special character in any way. Still, she has these traits that make her so easy to love, like creativity, intelligence, and humor. Even when the story gets tough for her, Kurusu pushes on with determination until things get better again (or at least more bearable). And if you’ve seen Steins; Gate? You know what I’m talking about! Plus, spoiler alert: That moment where she sings Hououin Kyouma just melts my heart every time!
1. Asuna Yuuki – Sword Art Online
Asuna has long, orange-brownish chestnut hair and brown eyes. In the early levels of SAO, she wore a dark red leather tunic with a lightweight copper breastplate and leather pants with boots up to the knees along as well as a hooded cape.
After joining the Knights of Blood, she wore a red and white uniform that all KoB members wear to signify her status as an honorary member. In addition, she wielded Lisbeth’s best rapier on hand, called the Lambent Light, in honor of its creator.
Asuna is a kind and helpful young woman who, similarly to Kirito, cannot abandon another in trouble. She takes the game very seriously and is determined to clear it before Kirito tells her to enjoy SAO a bit. Asuna also has an athletic side as she will not hesitate to get physical with those that challenge her authority or make fun of her abilities–such as cooking (or so she thinks!).
Luca Urushibara – Steins Gate
Although this cute and adorable character would be a great addition to the list, it’s a trap. This lovable Steins Gate character has only been a true female character for a brief moment. But I’m pretty sure a lot of fans would like to make her a waifu when she became a female anime character.
There’s no shortage of anime characters to choose from, but which one is your perfect waifu? I’m sure we all have different opinions on this matter! That’s why I’ve compiled a list of my 30 favorites. Who would you add for us to discuss next time around? Leave a comment and tell us about your perfect waifu from your favorite anime.
