The isekai genre has been one of the most popular in recent years, with many weirder variations coming out. However, there are also many different takes on what it means to be transported to an alternate universe – including having another chance at life as an adorable slime!

It also utilizes the theme of being reborn as a game character. Other good isekai anime like That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime include No Game No Life and Death March. Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? It may not be about starting your life from scratch. Still, it certainly holds the same thrilling fantasy element that makes slime so endearing. Bell is surrounded by goddesses who are both his Familia and Hestia’s. She struggles with what adventures await her day-to-day.
Like Rimuru, Bell struggles to improve himself, makes new friends, gets stronger, and also gains the attention of both humans and non-humans. The show features a tale of character development, romance, and, most importantly, adventure!
On the day that Yggdrasil, a virtual reality game he has been playing for years, is about to be shut off forever and closed down by its developers; Momonga decides to spend his final hour in-game with all of the NPCs at his guild’s castle before it was taken offline permanently. But after finally being done and ready to log out of this world, instead of seeing an error message or black screen like usual when logging off, he suddenly found himself still logged in!
For the first time, Momonga felt a sense of peace as he watched his loyal NPCs continue to live their lives in this strange new world.
He didn’t want to leave them behind again and stayed with them for days on end while studying what had happened when Yggdrasil restarted.
The story of Overlord could be very easily told. The protagonist has fallen into a virtual game, and as he explores the world around him, his skills grow with each passing day. What makes this series so special? Well, for starters, it’s well done – which can sometimes mean all you need to do to make something great happen!
How Not To Summon A Demon Lord
In How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, Rem and Shera make the mistake of summoning Diablo for him to be their servant. What they don’t realize is that he’s actually Takuma Sakamoto. He has mistakenly been transported into his favorite video game Cross Reverie.
To overcome his true self of being an awkward human, Takuma pretends that he is the demon lord, and it turns out to be surprisingly fun. The three of them go on an adventure through town together as they search for ways to break the slave collar accidentally cast on the girls.
Sakamoto and Satoru are kindred spirits when it comes to their lack of social skills. They both also possess incredible powers that they could easily use for evil deeds, but neither of them wants to do so.

In Another World With My Smartphone
Mochizuki Touya, a high-school student in Japan, accidentally dies when God mistakenly kills him. To apologize for this “accident,” God allows Mochizuiki to be resurrected. Seeing he can’t return: Touya asks to carry his smartphone with him too, which turns out to have some pretty cool benefits. Touya will live his daily life in this new world of swords and magic with boosted mental and physical abilities and special powers called smartphones!
With no particular goal but to live his day-to-day life to the fullest, Touya travels, making new friends and meeting high-ranking people while helping to solve everything from small requests to huge political disputes.
Saga Of Tanya The Evil
Tanya, a salaryman in her previous life who refused to believe in God and was reborn as a young girl, is now faced with the challenge of either dying from natural causes or learning faith. It sounds easy enough until she’s born into an alternate world where constant wars and magic exist.
Gifted with exceptional abilities as a mage, Tanya goes right to the front lines, where she becomes one of the most feared forces in recent history. But, as if her powerful magic is not enough for foes on battlefields across Elantra, she also proves herself time and again an expert at demolition work using just her wits and nerves of steel.
Monster Musume: Everyday Life With Monster Girls
After years of mythical creatures being left in the dark, Japan has finally allowed them to coexist with humans. Programs like the Interspecies Cultural Exchange Act are an important part of allowing these creatures to live alongside humans and learn more about one another’s cultures while still having a chance at preserving their own identity. For example, Kimihito Kurusu didn’t sign up for this role as host. Still, he finds himself unable to turn away Miia, lost in an accident, when she shows up on his doorstep waiting for her tour guide.
Many mythical creatures make an appearance in this show, but it is essentially a harem comedy. If you’re looking for more of the slimy kind of creature from slime, then I’m sorry to disappoint you; there’s not much slime involved. Instead, what we have is a gathering of different non-human creatures, much like what Rumiru has.

Wise Man’s Grandchild
Shin Wolford has the natural talent of being a powerful magician before being trained by some of the most talented mages and warriors in his country. However, he doesn’t hoard this power to himself but instead starts training his best friends so they can better their lives and defend their land too! Just like what Rimuru does after reincarnating in another world, he gradually starts “upgrading” the monsters around him, creating a city for them to live in that goes from medieval to modern rather quickly.
For those who can get past typical tropes like ‘isekai,’ there’s an entertaining show underneath it that you’re sure not want to miss out on!
No Game No Life
The legendary “Blank” is a gamer who’s never lost a game. Blank’s secret? They’re actually two people – Sora and Shiro, siblings with an aptitude for gaming. The two of them wind up being challenged by Tet, the God of games, and soon find themselves invited to Disboard, where every conflict gets resolved through playing games! Sora (a teen prodigy) and Shiro (an adult) were both perfectly suited for this world and matched against ancient races that have had centuries in which they could acclimate themselves to their new environment.
The Devil Is A Part-Timer!
Satan has been trying to take over Ente Isla by annexing its four different regions with the help of his loyal followers. However, when he finds himself cornered, he must escape his world through a portal that leads to a parallel world: modern-day Japan, a place where there is little to no magic.
Because of this, he changes form into that of normal humans, and they must take on a part-time job at the MgRonald’s fast food joint. But as the story goes on, it looks like he wasn’t the only one to come from their world.
Kazuma Satou, a young man who died early and is reincarnated in a world full of all sorts of things-magic and Demon Kings. He does what he can with the help from Aqua to defeat the demon king, but it turns out that Kazuma’s not really cut out for this job! Kazuma’s party is joined by many others, such as Megumin, a young mage, and Darkness.
Together they set off on quite the journey filled with hilarious comedy scenes. If you love slime, then there’s no way you won’t enjoy watching Kazuma go through the harsh adventures of a parallel world with his friends, who are always quick to blame him for their blunders.
Re: ZERO – Starting Life In Another World
The protagonist of Re: Zero is a young man who desires to be strong, but unfortunately, he was not gifted with any cool techniques like Rimuru. Subaru’s only skill, “Return by Death,” allows him to go back in time after death and retain his memory from the previous timeline. Each arc of Re: Zero sees Subaru trying desperately to change the world for the better using his powers until he eventually gets it right so that no one else has their life is taken away or experience such pain as well as regret; all while never knowing if this will work out because each death resets everything once again.
But different from That Time I Reincarnated as a Slime. This show offers a unique dark insight into isekai anime. You have been warned.

By the Grace of the Gods
After having endured much hardship in his previous life, the gods grace Ryouma Takebayashi with a second chance to pursue one goal: savor the wonders of life. Reborn in a parallel world, he finds himself deep in the forest, far from any human contact. Despite his young age, he has a sturdy physique and good compatibility with magic. Moreover, he engages in the rather strange hobby of keeping various types of slimes as pets.

Knight’s & Magic
In a world where magic is an everyday occurrence, and giant robots roam the land, Tsubasa Kurata was reincarnated as Ernesti Echevalier. With a knack for engineering in his former life, this young man quickly found himself mastering this new world’s version of both magical abilities and building its primary form of military might-Knights. Knight’s and Magic gives us a classic overpowered protagonist, as Eru shoots this world from “realistic” robots that are just giant hunks of metal to laser-firing Gundams in a matter of years.
Kobayashi-San Chi No Maid Dragon
“Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon” follows the story of a girl’s day-to-day life and how it becomes anything but boring when she meets an intriguing dragon named Tohru, who can transform into a human form as well.
They’re soon joined by another dragon who goes by the name of Kanna. Before you know it, they become a family going through the day-to-day struggles of normal people. Although most anime follow the logic from other popular Isekai, this one does much more to explore its characters, and we can’t wait for you to end up loving it just like all those others did!
The Rising Of The Shield Hero
